Summertime’s the perfect time to take steps toward better health

Sunshine, longer days, outdoor parties and picnics, trips to the beach …  even adults can catch that euphoric “school’s out” summertime feeling. Below are some easy ways to improve your overall wellness by taking full advantage of all things summer!

Get outdoors. Fresh-air activities like badminton, tennis, swimming or volleyball all get your blood pumping and feel more like a gift than a grind. Even the simplest exercises like walking or biking are somehowso much better under a perfect blue sky.


Dig in the dirt. Gardening can make you feel calm and grounded. Try tending to your own green patch, whether it’s in your own backyard or a community garden.


Enjoy the fruits of summer. Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries—they’re all “superfoods” rich in antioxidants that help fight cell damage, and they’re at their peak in the summer months.


Smile! There’s so much to revel in when the weather’s warm and the days are long. Just stepping outside into the sun can be enough to put a grin on anyone’s face—and smiling, like exercise, releases endorphins that lower your overall stress.
