June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. Several recent studies have suggested that there may be links between poor oral health (specifically, gum disease) and Alzheimer’s disease. For those currently dealing with Alzheimer’s or dementia, focusing on oral health routines is critical. Patients may forget how to care for their teeth or why it is important.
